The CECAM (Centre Européen de Calcul Atomique et Moléculaire) is now organized in regional "nodes" present in eight European countries, and the present node is the Paris area node (CFCAM-IdF).
In the CECAM's tradition, the Node supports events (Workshops, Discussion Meetings, Tutorials) advancing specific and timely topics within the general theme of atom scale simulations (see left panel for previous events).
Interactions between theoreticians and experimentalists, and initiatives promoting exchanges between physicists, chemists, mathematicians or biologists will be encouraged.
This Node will pay special attention to application-oriented fields (e.g. engineering, materials for the energy sector, bio-molecular modelling and structural bioinformatics) in which both research and industrial institutions are actively involved. The developpment of software and new methods, a strong point af the Paris area is also of particular interest.
Its activites and dedicated facilities will be hosted at the "Maison de la Simulation" in Saclay , "Maison de la Modelisation" located in Paris. Events may be hosted at the "Institut Henri Poincaré".

This Node was established from a consortium comprising
-University Paul Sabatier, Toulouse III (UPS)
-The Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS)
-The commissariat a L'Energie Atomique (CEA)
The CFCAM-GSO-Node is hosted by the University Paul Sabatier III in Toulouse. The CFCAM-GSO Node will focus on:
-Theory, methodology and code development
-Computational physics and chemistry
-Nanosciences
-Molecular Dynamics
-Materials for the energy sector
Le CFCAM-RA est un Nœud dans le sens de la Convention CECAM représentant la Région Rhône-Alpes en France.
Il contribue à la réalisation des objectifs du CECAM(lien externe).
Les missions du CFCAM-RA sont :
-encourager des projets de recherche collaboratifs à travers un programme de séjours scientifiques de courtes et longues durées ;
-organiser ou sponsoriser des rencontres scientifiques internationales de tailles et de durées variées (séminaires, colloques, ateliers, conférences thématiques et générales);
-organiser ou sponsoriser des tutoriels et écoles pour jeunes chercheurs en biologie, chimie, physique ou ingénierie numérique ;
-contribuer aux programmes des masters et doctorats en science numérique des partenaires universitaires ;
-poursuivre des opportunités de financement externe pour des programmes collaboratifs de recherche ou formation entre les partenaires du CFCAM-RA et avec les nœuds et le quartier général du CECAM(lien externe);
-fédérer et structurer au niveau régional les activités en science numérique liées aux modèles à particules ;
-participer à la coordination nationale de ces activités en France ;
-augmenter la visibilité et l’intégration au niveau européen de la science numérique en Région Rhône-Alpes.
